Where Curiosity Meets Compassion: Science Centre Singapore

June 30, 2025

“It was fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!” exclaimed 8-year-old Aaron with lots of laughter as he recalled his unforgettable trip to Science Centre Singapore with his friends and volunteers from Morgan Stanley.

Connections Formed

On 13 June 2025, excitement filled the air as 24 children from C3’s reading support programmes – GROW, StoryLAB, and iREAD set off on an afternoon of eager discovery at Science Centre Singapore. Joined by enthusiastic volunteers from Morgan Stanley, the children explored a world of science; from fascinating illusions and curious sounds to carnivorous plants and the dazzling Energy Show.

From the very beginning, the volunteers were more than chaperones. They were friends and fellow explorers. They chatted and played with the children, turning shy smiles into giggles. As the day unfolded, new bonds were formed through shared curiosity and joy.

Curiosity Ignited

From the moment the children stepped into the Science Centre, curiosity took over. From puzzling illusions to plants that “ate” insects, every exhibit sparked wonder and fascination. For Aaron, his eyes lit up at every new exhibition he saw. On the other hand, Qayyum and Faiqah embraced the opportunity to explore exhibits about sound waves and saving the earth. “We learned a lot,” they exclaimed proudly. Other experiences shared by sibling pair Ifreen and Daniyal, they got very excited exploring the mirror maze and “House of Phobias” section. Meanwhile, for most children, the incredible Energy show was the highlight of their memorable day.

Confidence Gained

The trip not only offered laughter and discoveries, but something deeper. A chance for children to see science come alive, know that learning can be joyful, and build meaningful connections with caring volunteers. Certainly, outings like this allow children from diverse backgrounds to nurture curiosity, confidence, and connection – lessons that last far beyond a single day.

Special thanks to Morgan Stanley and all the volunteers who made this day possible. Your time, energy and kindness turned an ordinary day into an unforgettable adventure of learning and love for the children at C3.

A joyful day of discovery and connection!
